Frequently Asked Questions
For donors and for NGOs using the platform.
For donors
It depends on the receiving organisation and your own tax rules. Bonga One
does not determine tax deductibility — ask the NGO directly whether it can
issue a tax-deductible acknowledgment for your jurisdiction.
A platform fee of 2.50% by default (minimum
$0.30) per donation. The exact percentage applying to your
donation is always shown in the widget before you pay, and is locked at
donation time. You may choose to cover the fee so the NGO receives the full
amount; otherwise the fee is deducted from your gift.
Yes. Name, email and message are all optional. If you choose anonymous (or
leave your name blank), the NGO and the public receipt show "Anonymous".
Every completed donation gets a unique reference. The confirmation screen
after payment shows a link to your receipt page, where the PDF can be
produced. Keep the reference — the receipt page is reachable by that
reference alone.
Payments are processed by Stripe: the card fields you type into inside
the donation widget are hosted by Stripe, so card details never touch
our servers or the NGO's website. We store only your donation details,
and IP addresses are stored only as irreversible hashes — the raw IP is
never kept. See our
Privacy Policy.
Donations are gifts and are final except under our refund policy. Donations
sit in a 7-day refund window before payout; during that
time genuine problems (unauthorised or duplicate payments) can be refunded
by the NGO or the platform. Contact the NGO first, or email
admin@bongaone.test with your
receipt reference.
Donations from $1.00 to $500,000.00.
Donations are collected in USD (card payments via
Stripe); South Sudanese Pounds and Kenyan Shillings may be shown as
approximate display hints only.
Not yet — recurring donations are planned for a later phase. Today each
donation is a one-off payment.
For NGOs
NGO accounts are created by our administrators after verification. Email
admin@bongaone.test with your
organisation details; we will verify your registration, set up your account
and send an invitation link to your first user.
Funds are not sent on a fixed schedule — you decide when to withdraw.
Cleared donations (past the 7-day refund window) that
match your verified KCB bank account's currency become eligible; you
select them under Withdraw Funds in your dashboard and submit one
withdrawal request (one currency per request). Bonga One administrators
review it — large payouts pass a two-person approval check — and approved
payouts are disbursed by KCB bank transfer to your verified KCB account,
marked Paid, with a statement and confirmation email available.
The hold gives genuine disputes (unauthorised or duplicated payments) time
to surface before funds leave the platform. It protects both donors and
your organisation from claw-backs after money has been spent.
Paste one small script tag into your website — your widget key is shown in
your dashboard. Full instructions, configuration options and security notes
are in the
Integration Guide (PDF).
No. Stripe notifies Bonga One when a payment completes, and your
dashboard and transaction list update in near real time. Direct NGO-side
webhooks are not part of version 1.
Your dashboard transaction list and CSV export show every donation with
its unique receipt reference, status, fee and net amount; every
withdrawal has its own payout reference and statement. Match these
against your own bank statement for the KCB transfers you receive.
Platform-side, Bonga One administrators match money between Stripe and
platform transactions by reference (Stripe settles via Dashboard payout
sweeps, which bundle many references into one bank movement).
Email admin@bongaone.test — quote
your organisation name and, for donation issues, the receipt reference.
